First match for the new Morrym team ends in defeat

The newly reformed team, Morrym FC was led out by re-founder and team captain Zahid Ma(c)hmood. After a bright 2-0 start with a brace from small, but lightning-quick striker Vige Siva, things were looking good for the side. But soon the opponents levelled and scored again to make it 4-3 at half time. After a team talk which consisted of Zahid coming up with excuses for conceding a goal at his near post and through his legs, the game resumed. The opponents' strkers were in top form, curling in long range shots in to the top corner of the net. At 8-3, there seemed no way back for the side of Morrym, but experienced player Edwin Poon came up with a last minute consolation with a placed shot past the despairing arms of the opponent's keeper, after a clever through ball from Zahid and an excellent save from debutant Alan Cheung. Although the match ended in defeat at 8-4, there were positives to be gained. Debutants Nick Scott and Alan Cheung proved themselves to be worthy additions to the squad, with Nick grabbing himself a debut goal and Alan showing that he can stand up even to the tallest of strikers in defence. Hopefully, all players will also be available for next week's match.

Morrym's man of the match: Alan Cheung (for turning up when asked to, unlike some people....)
